Mokrane Chemim is an Amazigh writer, linguist, and activist committed for several decades to the defense of identity and cultural rights in North Africa. A historical figure of the movement, he was the first to be arrested among the 24 detainees of the Berber Spring of April 1980, a founding event that shaped his intellectual and political journey. Author of numerous works dedicated to Amazigh history, language, and identity struggles, he continues a legacy of transmission and historical clarification recognized throughout the North African cultural landscape.
